Grooming Spitz dogs

The Spitz breed is well cherished for the beautiful looks and fluffy fur of the dogs. Because the physical aspect of your pet might influence the way he feels, keep him body in good condition and make sure you meet all his grooming demands. Take care of his appearance and you can improve both his self-esteem and confidence. Treat him like any member of the family who needs maintenance and show others what a responsible parent you are to your pooch.

Although with this type of dog you can expect heavy shedding, he does not need any special and time consuming requirements. You can brush his coat deeply once a week and they will stay clean. However, in spring and fall you might need additional brushing since these are the seasons when he sheds more. It is not recommended that you clip his coat because it may lose its qualities and the pup may feel the hot weather even more.

Use a good brush every time and keep up with the process. This will improve his blood circulation and give the hair a healthy glow. You will also strengthen your bond as you spend some quality time together. Bath him only if he needs it and not too often. You should regularly check the inside of his mouth and ears for any potential diseases. Include dental hygiene in your schedule and brush your canine friend’s teeth daily or every other day.

For the proper nail care, trim his nails monthly or anytime you hear the sounds of nails on the floor. This way, you will avoid any scratches when he jumps on your legs. Introduce your buddy with all the rituals from his puppy days and let him become accustomed to them. Praise and reward him after every grooming session so that he will enjoy the experience. Share precious moments together and make him feel precious!
